Introduction
Soft Skills Development Training Programme duly organize in our college. The training programme is conducted as per the guidelines by Savitribai Phule Pune University. In order to conduct the programme fruitfully, our college formed a committee The programme was conducted exclusively for third year B.A. and B. Com. student aimed to flourish their all round personality, to and make them more confident and active learners as well as to equip them to prepare for their further higher education. our rural students, especially the poor, backward and the marginalized lack opportunities. It is to give them that cutting edge in a highly competitive and ruthless world, that the University has launched the soft skills program. This has been a phenomenal success where students have greatly benefited from the course. With a view to develop the personality and confidence amongst the rural based economically poor and marginalized Students This Program includes training in Spoken English, ways and means to appear for an interview and total personality development basically good and effective communication skills.
Objectives
- To help formulate problem solving skills
- To guide students in making appropriate and responsible decisions, to create a desire to fulfill individual goals
- To Develop effective communication skills
- To Develop all-round personality with a mature outlook to function effectively in different circumstances
- To Become self-confident persons by mastering team management, and leadership skills.
- To help the employment opportunities available to the students
Importance of Soft Skills
Appropriate soft skills play an important role in a successful career as well as during social interactions in the society. These skills are also highly sought after by employers recruiting fresh graduates. The main purpose of this study was to investigate students’ perceptions of the importance of soft skills for their education and employment. soft skills were useful for social interaction as well as for career advancement. soft skills contribute considerably to their academic performance. important soft skills identified by the students were teamwork and collaboration, decision-making, problem-solving, time management and critical thinking skills.
